EDGEWOOD CREEK
Edgewood Creek was a unique project, even at the height of the dot com boom. It was conceived as a virtual marketplace where gourmet food manufacturers and gourmet food retailers could interact in order to buy and sell product outside of the traditional food show environment. Given that the user groups for this site were not particularly computer savvy, the interface needed to be simple, as well as elegant to comply with their upscale tastes.
Thus, Edgewood Creek became an elegant tool. The interface was aesthetically pleasing, consisting of medium tones that would be gentle on the eye for long term use. This combined with an easy to use content management system and custom made ecommerce backend made for an attention grabbing product. Edgewood Creek won a 2001 AdMark ADDY award and a 2001 One Show Interactive Bronze Medal - Best B2B Business Site for Modem Media.
I had the pleasure of working with information architects Andrew Sandler and Drue Miller as well as designer Kathy Allbright, who contributed the portal page. Thomas Sturm and Jenny Han built the over four dozen individual templates that made up EC.
ROLE IN PROJECT:
Visual design - Designed page layout, established and created the style guide and developed the visual branding for the site.
