DENNIS KUCINICH FOR PRESIDENT '04 In the fall of 2003 I was contacted by Dennis Kucinich's election campaign to redesign his website. Like many clients he needed his site ASAP, which in the political world meant TOMORROW. After consulting with his campaign managers, I began working on a comp which expressed what we coined as a sort of Mr. Smith Goes to Washington vibe. All of Kucinich's competitors were focused on aggressive angular designs with an abundance of true red, white and blue tones. To differentiate Kucinich's site, I softened the colors opting for more of a nostalgic take hoping to remind the visitor of a simpler–and perhaps more honest–era of politics. This comp was assembled in a record 3 hours and was presented to Mr. Kucinich himself in a conference call. Unfortunately, the November primary was mere weeks away and focus was diverted from the website redesign. Still, I was honored to be asked to contribute my skills to his election campaign.
